Recode reports this morning that Snapchat is more popular than ever, according to data from a new survey from investment firm Piper Jaffray, who asks teens about social media use in the spring and fall each year.

“This fall’s survey found that 47 percent of surveyed teens say Snapchat is their preferred social media, up from 39 percent in the spring. Way back in the spring of 2015, Snapchat was their least preferred social media platform. And Instagram hasn’t been the most popular platform since 2015, according to the survey data.”

Columbia students will face disciplinary action for protesting a speech on campus

Columbia University students may be in some hot water over free speech. “Protesters who interrupted or disrupted last week’s speech by white nationalist Tommy Robinson will face disciplinary action under the rules of conduct,” according the the school’s newspaper, The Spectator.

The paper reports that, “in an email to some protesters on Friday afternoon, Rules Administrator Suzanne Goldberg—also Executive Vice President for University Life—said she had received a complaint about disruptions of the speech, which could constitute violations of the Rules of University Conduct.” Read all about this growing controversy here.
